Recently I traveled to Asia and was amazed by the mobile telecommunications infrastructure. For $12 I purchased a “Happy Tourist” SIM card with over 3GB of data. Signal was consistent everywhere, and a lot of the Wi-Fi hotspots were routing traffic over the LTE mobile network. The low prices, easy access and quality experience is a direct result of having leapfrogged traditional telecommunications infrastructure and going straight to mobile.
For midsize companies, the move to cloud services is similar to the way mobile data infrastructure was deployed in Asia.
