Partners in Health is a Boston-based non-profit that provides healthcare services to the world’s poorest, most marginalized communities. Founded in 1987 by renowned Dr. Paul Farmer, a physician and anthropologist, who also serves in leadership roles at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and the United Nations.
Migrating Partners in Health to Microsoft Azure
In 2015, Catapult worked with Dave Mayo the Partners in Health CIO and his team to migrate key business applications to Microsoft Azure. As a specialist in ERP technology, Catapult’s role was to lead the migration of Serenic Navigator, an embedded ISV solution based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV along with supporting technologies that include Jet Enterprise, Rapidi Replication Services and Log Me In Services. The resulting Azure solution improved performance by separating Serenic Navigator from Jet’s enterprise reporting cubes, and addressed performance and security issues through Active Directory logins, 2factor authentication to the Azure portal, and the use of Windows authentication.
