A few weeks ago I was trying to install CRM for Outlook using the following from the D365 portal. I found the installation files by navigating to Apps >> Apps for Dynamics 365:
Then I clicked on the download ‘ Dynamics 365 for Outlook’ installation files:
After installing the Outlook client, when I went to configure D365 online I was presented with the following error message:
This is because Microsoft has ended support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1. The currently supported version of the Dynamics 365 Outlook Plugin, version 22.214.171.124, is the only version of the Plugin that supports TLS 1.2. Older versions of the Plugin use TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 and are no longer supported by Microsoft.
Update the install media by going here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56327
Then, re-run the configuration wizard and you’ll be able to get around the issue above.
